“I was born on the 2 September 2011, happy to be part of this world and happy to go to Tracy, my Mums home!
When I was 4 months old, on the 19 December 2011, someone poisoned me. It was 8h10 a.m. and my Mum was outside on the front patio with me when she noticed that something was wrong. Mum called Dad and he thought I was fine, but my Mum came back, just knowing I wasn’t.
I was falling all over the place, feeling really terrible and confused and Mum took me straight to the vet even though it was very early. Luckily for me she too was early that morning, as I could no longer walk and didn’t know what was happening or where I was. The vet put me onto a drip straigh away, which felt really weird and my Mum told me by that afternoon I was having seizures. I was very afraid and didn’t understand what was happening to me and why my body would stiffen up.
The vet didn’t feel very hopeful about me but she was such a good vet that she also continued to do everything she could, as I was having one seizure after another. Dad and Mum were determined to help me live, and I too wanted to live. They visited me every day, rubbing my paws, which I still love them to do as I doze off. At one stage I had four drips running!
On Christmas day I was still in hospital and the best present ever for us all would be me to go home. And then boxing day came and the vet called Mum to say they could come and fetch me, her little girl. It was one of the happiest moments for us all.
Mum says I am a miracle girl as I should not be with them today, but I was determined to make it. And she says I am still a bit funny lol, and get sick a lot, but she is always by my side! And Holly, my best dog friend is always with me, loving and encouraging me. We all be together forever as Mum tells us all the time.”
